Since arriving here in Fairbanks, Alaska, we have had the most difficult time finding good coffee! It's perplexing because there are these drive through coffee huts on every corner. They are oh so adorable and have really cute names like Espresso Yourself, Mocha Moose, Good Morning Americano and Java Da Hutt! We have a Starbucks on post that has been a nightmare. We have never been able to get a good coffee there. They cannot get it right.
I've also been noticing that all of the business chains out here are off. McDonalds has stale fries and hard, dry chicken nuggets. We have never once got a correct order from burger king and don't even get me started on Denny's. I don't understand what's going on here. Surely, there's a reason right? Maybe there's something in the water. Anyway, back to the important stuff...COFFEE We happened upon a little donut shop that claims "fresh donuts made daily" but whenever we go there, the shelves are empty. It's kind of a dumpy little place BUT the coffee is just right! I've decided to overlook the fact that they have a 9 year old running the register. Child labor is cool in my book.
