Here's Stanley

This is Mr. Stanley, our newest addition to our family. We adopted him last week from Loving Companions here in Fairbanks. When we first met him, he was so rowdy and just pulled and pulled on the leash until it broke off and he took off running! We had begun to lose hope but Hubby took him for a walk and he mellowed out so quickly. He just needed a bit of attention. One nice thing about the rescue was that they do a two week home trial to be sure that you are a good fit.

We took him home and have been impressed with him ever since (with the exception of him jumping the back fence).  He is so mellow and well-behaved, he's completely house broken and is such a quick learner. He only has to be told once or twice and he gets it, no fence jumping included. We are in love :) There is just one downside that we are working on and that is the cat chasing. He wants our kitty so bad, just to play, and chases her whenever he sees her. She has been forced to hide upstairs in our bedroom where she only comes down to potty. Poor thing, I hope they will get used to each other eventually.

Stanley is so great with the kids too and they just love him to pieces. I am so glad that we adopted an older dog, he's just amazing.
