Sugar and Spice

As most of you know, I recently found out that we are having a baby girl. I was so excited that I immediately went out and bought some girly baby clothes. When I got home, I realized that I am already treating this one differently even though she isn't even born yet. In just a few days I went from "Oh, the little stinker is keeping me up again" to "awww, Hi sweetheart" when she is kicking. I always thought I'd be the kind of Mom that encouraged boys and girls to be treated the same but already I am babying her. I'm thinking of outfits and headbands and all the girly crap I get to put on her. Poor baby!
This has got me thinking about all of the things I swore I'd never do when I was a Mom. I would NEVER take my child to the circus because of the animal cruelty. My kids wouldn't be drinking soda or eating at McDonalds...NO WAY! We would only watch educational TV and read lots and lots of books everyday. I never pictured myself buying a nintendo DS or giving in to all the hyped up toys and cartoon characters. My old self would be all "judgy" of my new self. Oh well, That's part of parenthood I guess.  It's learning to go with the flow and accept that things aren't always going to be perfect.

Do any of you find yourselves doing things you thought you'd never do?
