Day To Day

We are staying at the Northern Lights Inn on post right now and will be until mid next week. It has been very cramped quarters but it's a good place and they have been very nice. We have been looking for a place this week and have two in mind. The first is a little rambler with wood exterior. It's impeccably clean and well kept and is very close to FWW and school. The second is a little log house about 12 miles away. It's a place with lots of character and kind of away from things. We are thinking that this second one is our favorite but there are a few other applicants so we are trying not to get our hopes up. It's so adorable though! It's even got a barn with an upstairs/clubhouse type thing and a good-sized yard. We fell in love with it. If we don't get this one though, the first is a really beautiful home. We should find out by tomorrow night.

We've been going around town and getting a feel for Fairbanks. One thing we noticed right away is that there are a ton of liquor stores! There's even one attached to WalMart. Things are more expensive, but not by too much. It's not as pretty as I hoped in town though. It's just open space with nothing really worth while to look at. Fortunately, we are just a short drive away from some beautful scenery. I still can't find my way around but Hubby seems to be getting the hang of it. I am in charge of taking the car in to get winterized and I am very scared that I will get lost. That's the big thing here...winterizing. You have to plug in your cars here to keep the battery from freezing and you have to get special oil yada yada yada I don't know the lingo.

In the next few weeks there are some fall/halloween stuff coming up that we are going to be going to so I will give y'all the update when we start seeing more around the Alaska.  For now it's just been hotel and house hunting. Not too much of interest but there ya go. My only complaint is I could really go for some girl time. I miss that.
