Hi

Well, first things first. I am going to be homeschooling the kiddo again. We are having issues with the public school here. He was put in a combined grade class of K, 1st and 2nd (He's in 2nd) and he said that they all learn the same lessons, no seperate time. I had hoped that he was just misunderstanding but then I got a couple of his tests back. He actually had the words "and, dan, jan..." all three letter, simple words. Pathetic for a 2nd grader. I called the school to see if we could just move him to an all 2nd grade class but they said all of the other classes were full :(
Then, last week, he starts coming home from school visibly upset. He says that he gets teased every day and now the only kid that will play with him is the one his teacher assigned to be his "buddy". This went on all week and then he says he wants to be homeschooled again. Very strange how both of us came to the same conclusion just about the same day.
Now my concern is making sure he gets plenty of socialization. Thankfully, i found a Fairbanks homeschool group that does weekly fieldtrips and lots of get togethers. They even get together to have the kids learn public speaking and practice in front of the group. I am hoping with this, all of the family activities the military does and karate (coming soon), we will be good to go. I've been stressed y'all.
The puppy is doing okay. She still whines when she feels she isn't being included though. This includes when I am cooking in the kitchen and not holding her. She sits at my feet and whimpers. She has stopped howling all night though , hooray! She has been doing great with poddying on her puppy pads. Hubby has started giving her treats when she goes and now she has started going over and just sitting on them like she is pretending to go for a treat. She's just 7 weeks old and is one smart cookie.
It's still cold but I think we're getting a little more used to it. We get all our gear on before we go anywhere and the heated seats in our car have been a Godsend. It is so beautiful and I am so glad we decided to get this house outside of town. It's so much prettier here. Other than being a bit lonely, things are good. When are y'all going to come visit? It's been almost a month! I'm waiting......
